Our World Today

Last year people were looking forward to their spring break, wondering about where their family might go for vacation, daydreaming about the sweet fragrance of newly bloomed flowers and enjoying their time out. Having this planned ahead at the time they weren’t expecting what was coming for them, a worldwide pandemic, sweeping the earth into quick unsettlement and many jobs being lost through this process.

On July 24, 1933, Roosevelt gave a radio address in which he coined the term “first 100 days”. In one of his statements at the time he spoke, “we all wanted the opportunity of a little quiet thought to examine and assimilate in a mental picture the crowding events of the hundred days which had been devoted to the starting of the wheels of the new deal.”

President Franklin Delano Roosevelt led the United States from isolationism to the ending and victory over Nazi Germany and with it’s allies in World War II. He spearheaded the successful wartime alliance between Britain, the Soviet Union and the United States and helped lay the groundwork for the post-war peace organization that would become the United Nations. The only American president in history to be elected four times. Roosevelt soon died in office in April 1945.

Joe Biden is our newly elected president of the United States of America. He has created a new website called Joe Biden’s Vision For America. Biden created this website to help Americans know and understand what his goals are for his first 100 days in office.

This website includes everything Biden plans on doing before his first 100 days are over. This website mentions that Biden has a plan to beat Covid 19 and reopen schools safely. He also plans to inject many coronavirus vaccines into the U.S citizens and ending the pandemic.

The 7B Digital Journalism students are ambitious writers that spent a month researching and writing these articles to inform the public about our world today. I suggest taking a look at some of them and also taking a look at president Joe Biden’s website to find out more about what he plans to accomplish in his first 100 days.
