The next AdVenture Charity Fair is on December 13, 2017 at Herman Intermediate. Charity Fair is an event that raises money for the school or a disaster that happened in the community. Students come up with a product or item they make and sell to raise money for a charity of their choice. Students pick a variety of charities they feel passionate about so they can see what it’s like to help the community and what their chosen charity does in real life.

Charity Fair was started to raise money for a good cause and support people in need. Charity Fair begins with students presenting their Ignite presentation. This presentation is two minutes long, 15 seconds per slide, for a total of eight slides. Students also need to design a good logo that attracts people to admire your display. If you don’t have one, people won’t recognize your company and might not spend money on your products.

Students also need an instructable. The instructable should explain how students made their product. Some of the other information students need on their trifold display is: they need to say what their chosen charity does and what impact they have on the world.

Another bit of information students need to include is the cost and profit of making their product. This tells people how much it costs to make one product. Student then need to show the math about how much it would cost to make five, ten and finally 100 items. This all comes in handy for when students present their project to people attending Charity Fair.

One person this reporter interviewed said they shouldn’t have a voting system because there are many students’ charities that don’t get chosen and they did all the work for nothing. Another student this reporter interviewed said maybe people could donate a little bit to each charity so that students don’t feel like they did all that work for nothing. Another student this reporter interviewed said students are planning to make a lot of money this year because they are getting into big groups and collaborating well.
