Desmond Rix, a 7th grader at  AdVenture STEM, wanted to create a badminton team. He got approval from a P.E. teacher to submit a proposal for badminton to become a sport after school. Desmond really wanted to start a badminton team, so  he could have a fun sport he could participate in after school. But due to complications, badminton didn’t make it past the proposal stage.

Because Desmond enjoys playing badminton, he still wants to try to make it an after-school sport. Nicholas Pierce, a 7th grader at AdVenture STEM,  would also like to have a badminton team. Since Nic and Desmond didn’t organize the team in enough time this fall for badminton to be added as an after-school sport this year. Nick really likes to play badminton as well as Desmond.

Desmond stated “I would like for other schools to have a badminton team as well so maybe we could have a competition like most schools do who have a basketball or soccer team.” Desmond also stated, “I like badminton. I really like it.”

Desmond really wanted our school to have a team so that he could do what he likes to do. Desmond also said that he planned to host badminton games after school on Thursdays. Badminton could be an awesome sport to offer here at Herman-AdVenture STEM. There is a lot of support for this sport and this idea.

I LOVE playing badminton as much as I love eating food. People who know me will know how much I love food. Every Saturday I go out with my family and a couple of my friends to play at a badminton center and it would be great if it was an after-school sport. Make it happen next year!!!

Great job for telling us that students can make anything happen if they try.
