Patriots Girls Basketball A team, with 13 girls, had their first game on October 19, 2017, at Quimby Oaks Middle School. The basketball game started at 3:30 and ended at 4:30 pm. The Patriots had one hour to play their first basketball game. The team practiced hard, hoping they could win that first game.

The basketball game had been going back and forth with the score. In the first quarter the Patriots were falling a little bit behind but, started to catch up with Quimby Oak at about half way through the first quarter.  The Patriots kept passing, working together, and scoring. The Herman Patriots were tied with Quimby Oaks most of the second quarter and at the end the Patriots started to take the lead by a few points.

In the third quarter the Patriots were still up a few points but Quimby Oaks caught up fast. The Patriots played strong defense and worked plays on Quimby Oaks. Izabelle Larson, one of the players, said, “Overall we did good on our passing, dribbling, and 2-3 zone. The fourth quarter was the hardest quarter. Both teams were scoring; the game was intense.”

Quimby Oaks and the Herman Patriots were tied in the beginning of the fourth quarter. Herman and Quimby Oaks kept scoring points. At the end of the fourth quarter, Quimby Oaks took the lead. The Patriots were working hard until the last second when buzzer beater went off.

Unfortunately the Patriots lost, but it was not a bad loss. Even though the Patriots lost they still played really well for their first game. Quimby Oaks took the first win, but the Patriots are looking forward to facing Quimby Oaks again and coming back stronger. First-year player, Izabelle Larson said, “I think that we could have done better. We just need to work or practice more.”

Very informal and well written. I really like how you did not say that Izabelle was your witness straight up but just added her quote very fluently. Nice!
