There was a motorcycle crash on the highway. It was at night and the motorcycle was destroyed. The driver was laying on the ground in pain.

Then a car pulled up to block the traffic so he would not be run over. They got out of the car and went to comfort the man until an ambulance arrived.

Michelle Scheid (my mom) was in the car that pulled up to help the man in the crash. My mom is who I would consider an Unassuming Hero.

An Unassuming Hero is someone that you would not expect to have been in a situation where they commit an act of heroism.

There are many heroes throughout history. You probably have heard of some like George Washington, who became the first president of the United States of America, and Abraham Lincoln, who passed the 13th Amendment to end slavery.

But there are some heroes that you probably have not heard of like James Armistead, a spy during the Revolutionary War.

Sometimes heros get called to action. A call to action is when you see something bad happening, and you can either help or just ignore what is happening.

My mom’s call to action was when she and her friends were just a few cars behind the accident. When they saw what had happened they pulled their car in front of the motorcycle driver who was lying on the floor.

My mom says, “I was feeling very scared while this was happening.” They got out of the car to go comfort the driver and call an ambulance.

“If we did not stop, I hope someone else would have,” said Michelle Scheid, “I think that it was good that we did stop, though.”
